About Me
Welcome to My Portfolio Website
A brief summary of my projects, experiences, and education.
I am a full-time student studying computer science at Warwick University. I am in my fourth and final year, passionate about how the tech world is evolving and its life-changing impacts on society. I also have a strong interest in the financial world, particularly in how technology affects finance from a personal to a worldwide scale.
During my studies at university, I have undertaken various projects, work experiences, and internships. These include full-stack development, machine learning, and database design. The languages and frameworks used include Python, Flask, C#, SQL Server, and React.
My fourth year group dissertation project.
We (Kartheyan Sivalingam, L Chipchase, J Harvey, A Minhas, T Mohyuddin) created a set of visualisation tools to dynamically create visual explanations for complex voting rules in the field of Participatory Budgeting. We built these tools ontop of an existing Python library (pabutools), and they are publicly available via pip install pabutools.
Developing an order automation system for a business.
This project aimed at streamlining the ordering process at Brighton Silver, saving valuable time and money by reallocating the team's time to other tasks and projects. I developed the project from an idea, built a specification, and worked using an Agile methodology to continuously implement changes and ideas from the team. This project is no longer in use due to changes in the stock system. However, further development is planned for the summer of 2024.
The skills used and developed here include C#, SQL Server, React, Azure Development, Cost Analysis, Project Management, Communication, and Agile Development.
My third-year project and dissertation. This received a mark of 78%.
ESGX is a web application that, given a PDF of an ESG report of a US technology company, extracts a relevant set of Key Performance Indicators from that report to generate graphs outlining the company's environmental impact.
The skills used and developed here include Python, Flask, Project Management, Data Extraction, and Data Analysis.
My internship at Click Databases
Between my first and second years at university, I interned at Click Databases, a Brighton-based software company offering bespoke database solutions (now acquired by Entegra). During my time there, I worked with the entire team, developing a project across the entire project lifecycle and the entire software stack.
The skills used and developed here include C#, SQL Server, Agile Development, Teamwork, and Project Management.
Developing a website to introduce young people to the world of finance.
This project was a personal project to provide a basis for young people into the world of personal finance. It covers concepts such as compound interest, credit scores, saving, and debt management.
The skills used and developed here include HTML, JavaScript, Bootstrap, CSS, and Communication Skills.
A brief summary of my additional educational projects.
A project where using CNNs I trained a model to predict the TILs score of breast cancer slides. Scoring 91%, this was at the top of the cohort for this module.
Using various machine learning techniques to classify the median household income of regions based on the mortality rates of various diseases. I was able to predict whether the household incomes fell above or below the mean with over 70% accuracy.
Using R to model Ebola outbreaks considering populations of Mosquitos as well as Humans.
A project where using CNNs I trained a model to predict the expression strength of various proteins from Whole Slide Images.
Using classification, feature extraction and machine learning to classify images into different classes. This coursework achieved a grade of 94% and was one of the highest marks in the course.
Creating a web application pairing mentors and mentees. This was a group project of six people, and was in conjunction with Deutsche Bank and the University of Warwick.
